I will never do it again

Was what I said last week

After I proved again so weak

To this passion that has made me so sick

And threatened to make my future so bleak

I want to remain sane

Can anyone help me please

And give me the secret to ease

This pain that leaves me no bliss

And seems unwilling to cease

I have hitherto being slain

My heart has failed severally

My bones have quivered violently

My flesh has waned gradually

My confidence has sipped away steadily

I seek only one thing to gain

A life so disciplined; confidence I gladly see

A hope so strong; despondency has to flee

A face so bright; in me is nothing but glee

That at last, I’m finally free

I believe again to reign

In the strength I once had

In the hope I pursued hard

In the joy I did jealousy guard

And in the fullness of life I need so bad.
